The team

This documentary was inspired by Theo’s volunteer experience at a maximum-security prison, where he facilitates a forgiveness program. Over time, he began to notice that all these men had similar recurring struggles born from subconscious questions: “what is justice?” and “what is forgiveness?”

Through conversations with chaplains and inmates alike, he gained insight into the harsh realities of recidivism and developed a deep curiosity about how individuals manage to break this vicious cycle when the odds are stacked against them. 

Theo connected with Pascal, a fellow documentary filmmaker with a passion for justice, and they began interviewing numerous ex-inmates who had successfully changed the course of their lives; hearing story after story about life after lockup. These conversations offered stark insights into the societal barriers, broken relationships, and the potential for healing that await people who leave prison. 

In 2025, Erin joined the team, bringing a unique blend of knowledge as a Qualifying Registered Psychotherapist and experience as an associate creative director/copywriter. Her passion for psychology, combined with marketing and communications, adds a valuable perspective and support to the project.
